How Camp?

God, I had forgotten just how fucking outrageous this lot are..... LOVE IT!

Today is the Big Prince Night Out.
PSYCHED!
Its work til lunhctime, a coach to London for 6.30 .. a dash across town to get to the hotel to meet Rach, then a quick change of shirt and a dash to the O2 for the Prince gig and then the aftershow ... we should get back to the hotel around 5.00!
Then after a few hours kip, its across to Waterloo to pick up my Eurostar tickets ready for Monday so I can be doing things like this:

Except I wont be half as cool .. or allowed to get out of the boat and inspect the animatronics.

One Week....

...since the bowling and I finally have the team photo. As you can see, I am on the left, with Aled Jones next to me. Yes Rach, he has his arm round me. I beat you and Briony to him. Fact. Well .. not in that way .... he isn't my type and being a bloke I very much doubt I am his. Anyhoo, in front of Aled is Alex Moore, the other side is Dave from traffic, that's Producer Craig at the back peeping over, Ricky Dee (programme director and presenter) and then Chris Moore (mid morning presenter).

I went Who hunting last night. Looks like the past 7 days, either Who or Torchwood have been filming in Bute Park in Cardiff - the same location they converted to Hooverville for this years Dalek two parter....
I finally got the chance to get down there last night, as they were packing up and moving out! Bah humbug......
The only visible signage was a Tesco children's festival 'artistes this way' .. I did wonder if that was a smokescreen but googling it has revealed that it took place in that location back in July .. so the sign must just be left over. Then we managed to see in the production office trailer .... covered, and I mean COVERED in Who pics, merchandise, radio times framed covers ......
However, we saw the characters trailers as they were just pulling away with Sisters 1,2,3,4,5.6 & 7, Soothsayer & High Priestess! Sounds more family friendly Who than TW to me......

And Sarah Jane starts on Monday. V excited but of course will be in Paris and miss the first episode. Fucking knew this would happen.

So potentially some scary cult in the woods story? Time will tell.

Marginal Success

You may be familiar with my boiler and car troubles. And also that I am working to not spend money because I can, so that we can have a new boiler and get my clutch fixed.
Its almost working.
Usually, my bank account is empty a good two weeks before I get paid ... but this month, just two days prior to payday, I still am £60 up. So only another £1140 to go! At the current rate, we can have heating and hot water again in about .. ooh ... May 2009! Marvellous. The clutch on the car could then be fixed properly in the July. Wicked.
And that heating would be dead handy right now. In the last 36 hours, its gone from still thinking about being an Indian Summer to fuck-me-its-almost-October-and-Autumn-so-best-get-colder-with-unfeasibly-bright-sun weather. Right before our holiday to Disneyland Paris next week. Like, it couldn't have held out for just 10 days? As a favour for the shitty July we had? No? Oh well, fuck ya! Still, I expect we shall have great time regardless ... bear in mind last time we were in Paris it was under three inches of snow, so its bound to be warmer than that.

Of course, this Friday is the Big Prince Night Out. Its all sorted. I am on the 3.00 Megabus to London and Rach will already be snoozing at the hotel when I arrive. We can then chill before heading over to the O2 for the main gig and then the aftershow. Psyched doesn't even cover it.

Then Monday is Dan's birthday. So I will give him the @&^$%£ £$% %$"*&% (&% I got him from the ^$^$( ^%£!"*( and the &$"*^%$)%$" from *^£$&&% &^$")& that I managed to obtain for him on Sunday before we head off to stay at Mark's ready for Monday morning. Then of course, he has his character breakfast booked for Tuesday and the of course &£$% & £$&""$ will be %"*))(*^$ (&^ ^&%$£(^ to &%$^ *$. Which I hope he will be thrilled about.

FACT!

Very amusing they have put this to Kim Possible ...

So not my colour

I took the colour code test. I am a Yellow.
I might be a yellow, but I so cant pull off yellow.
I had to wear yellow top to toe for Godpsell and when I knelt before the cross wailing all the audience had was my big yellow Simpsonsesque ass in their face. It was like being too close to the sun.
YELLOWS are motivated by FUN. They are inviting and embrace life as a party that they're hosting. They love playful interaction and can be extremely sociable. They are highly persuasive and seek instant gratification. YELLOWS need to be adored and praised. While YELLOWS are carefree, they are sensitive and highly alert to others' agendas to control them. YELLOWS typically carry within themselves the gift of a good heart.
YELLOWS need to look good socially, and friendships command a high priority in their lives. YELLOWS are happy, articulate, engaging of others and crave adventure. Easily distracted, they can never sit still for long. They embrace each day in the "present tense" and choose people who, like themselves, enjoy a curious nature. YELLOWS are charismatic, spontaneous, and positive; but can also be irresponsible, obnoxious, and forgetful. When others interact with you, as a YELLOW you respond to them best if they take a positive, upbeat approach and promote light-hearted, creative, and fun interactions with you.
Understand that no two YELLOWS are exactly alike. Although you share the same core motivation as many others, your personality is still unique to you alone.

Odds n Sods

So I have not really told you of my adventures these last few days.
Last Wednesday was a biggie. Creative Day in Manchester.
This meant up at 5.00 to drive up there for a 10.30 meeting, followed by a Chinese buffet (oh lord I am a slave to the crispy duck), an intimate gig by The Proclaimers (not really my thing, but given it was a crowd of about 250 people, it was a rare opportunity and glad I went. I have a very poor video clip of I'm Gonna Be 500 Miles on my phone now. You just have to sometimes) before I flounced off to finally do Canal Street.
Now, my experiences of Canal Street are tales told me by people who have frequented, or what I saw on the UK Queer As Folk series. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but really liked it. Being a weds night, it was quiet, and I had been told that Churchills was likely to have patronage to my tastes. If only it hadn't been mostly closed for refurbishment. There was a small section open but it had a lot of women in it. A cute cub did come in, as did another with his mate/bf ... but when towards the end of my first drink Celine Dion came on the video jukebox, I took my cue and vacated the vicinity. Given I had been up since 5, lasting til 11 was pretty good going for me, frankly.
Isn't it great though that the main Gay area is called See? Anal Street......
Toby then came down for the weekend. He needed a break for reasons that really aren't my beeswax to air in public. Hopefully, we helped with that. We did take a trip up to Cyfaltha Castle for a troll around the grounds, which was v pleasant. We introduced him to Heroes too. Always a good thing.

Then last night, a documentary about my Dad aired on Channel 5 (The Man Who Dream the Future). To be honest, they didn't show him at his best and I am so totally going to have to have words with him about what he wears next time he is going on national television, but it was fair and unbiased in any direction, so it really left the viewer to decide, which i think is good.

We are now less than two weeks from The Big Prince Night Out and Disneyland Paris! YAY

Kick in the Balls

Imagine how excited I was getting through this.....
Just been told we are hoisting a cinema showing of The Sound of Music. We have a whole screen specifically for staff and clients, its a singalong event, fancy dress is compulsory. We are doing a Sound of Music Monday on air .... with themed competitions all day for listeners to win tickets. Lots of help needed organising, guaranteed brill night out ... if only it was all happening over three of the four days I am in Disneyland Paris.
I will be in the corner crying if you need me

Tell Me About Your Childhood...

So I took this personality test.
And this what it says about me. I am an ENFP (Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceiving)
ENFPs are friendly folks. Most are really enjoyable people. Some of the most soft-hearted people are ENFPs.
ENFPs have what some call a "silly switch." They can be intellectual, serious, all business for a while, but whenever they get the chance, they flip that switch and become CAPTAIN WILDCHILD, the scourge of the swimming pool, ticklers par excellence. Sometimes they may even appear intoxicated when the "switch" is flipped. (Moi? surely not)
One study has shown that ENFPs are significantly overrepresented in psychodrama. Most have a natural propensity for role-playing and acting. (yeah baby ... do me daddy bear... oh, not in that sense? righto)
ENFPs like to tell funny stories, especially about their friends. This penchant may be why many are attracted to journalism. I kid one of my ENFP friends that if I want the sixth fleet to know something, I'll just tell him. (Point in case .. most entries on this blog)
ENFPs are global learners. Close enough is satisfactory to the ENFP, which may unnerve more precise thinking types, especially with such things as piano practice ("three quarter notes or four ... what's the difference?") Amazingly, some ENFPs are adept at exacting disciplines such as mathematics.
Friends are what life is about to ENFPs, moreso even than the other NFs. They hold up their end of the relationship, sometimes being victimized by less caring individuals. ENFPs are energized by being around people. Some have real difficulty being alone , especially on a regular basis.
One ENFP colleague, a social worker, had such tremendous interpersonal skills that she put her interviewers at ease during her own job interview. She had the ability to make strangers feel like old friends.
ENFPs sometimes can be blindsided by their secondary Feeling function. Hasty decisions based on deeply felt values may boil over with unpredictable results. More than one ENFP has abruptly quit a job in such a moment. (yep ... on two occasions)

The Champion Idealists are abstract in thought and speech, cooperative in accomplishing their aims, and informative and expressive when relating with others. For Champions, nothing occurs which does not have some deep ethical significance, and this, coupled with their uncanny sense of the motivations of others, gives them a talent for seeing life as an exciting drama, pregnant with possibilities for both good and evil. This type is found in only about 3 percent of the general population, but they have great influence because of their extraordinary impact on others. Champions are inclined to go everywhere and look into everything that has to do with the advance of good and the retreat of evil in the world. They can't bear to miss out on what is going on around them; they must experience, first hand, all the significant social events that affect our lives. And then they are eager to relate the stories they've uncovered, hoping to disclose the "truth" of people and issues, and to advocate causes. This strong drive to unveil current events can make them tireless in conversing with others, like fountains that bubble and splash, spilling over their own words to get it all out.
Champions consider intense emotional experiences as being vital to a full life, although they can never quite shake the feeling that a part of themselves is split off, uninvolved in the experience. Thus, while they strive for emotional congruency, they often see themselves in some danger of losing touch with their real feelings, which Champions possess in a wide range and variety. In the same vein, Champions strive toward a kind of spontaneous personal authenticity, and this intention always to "be themselves" is usually communicated nonverbally to others, who find it quite attractive. All too often, however, Champions fall short in their efforts to be authentic, and they tend to heap coals of fire on themselves, berating themselves for the slightest self-conscious role-playing.
It also suggests career choices for me are: Psychology, Counselor, Journo, Writer, Film Producer, Marketing or PR ...
What do you think? They got me sussed?

Sims Update

Looking after my Daughter wears me out. So here I am sleeping in her room ... with my Optimus Prime tee ...

and Rain bought me a nice android to help around the house. But as you can see, we just sit around watching Tricia and talking about men...
Sadly, Rain didn't like this and broke her. Death actually showed up in person to take her remains away.

But Rain finally took the hint from me, Sophie and Smeagol and took a werewolf cure. So he is human again. Permanently.
Our daughter celebrated a birthday and became a child.
See how Rain is holding me? Dont they look sweet! Look and learn, Dan ... look and learn ..... (of course, Dan is actually completely perfect to me ..... but that woudlnt have made as a half a funny sign off now, would it?)
